Ethiopia's Tigray Region bags gold award for greening its dry-lands
ROME, Aug 22 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - A major project to restore land in Ethiopia's Tigray Region to boost millions of people's ability to grow food won gold on Tuesday in a U.N.-backed award for the world's best policies to combat desertification and improve fertility of drylands.
Authority collects over 135 bln birr
Addis Ababa, August 22, 2017 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA) collected 135.5 billion birr last Ethiopian budget year (2016/17).The authority was able to achieve 86 percent of its plan to collect 173.1 billion birr, according to Fasika Belay, education and communication deputy director of EECA.

I wrote a short note and captured some of the works to highlight the effort by REST and the Regional Government in Tigrai (Click Here to Read) .
