62 million: No. of international arrivals in Africa in 2017
Africa reached a record 62 million international arrivals in 2017, translating to a growth of 8%. Arrivals in Sub-Saharan Africa increased by 5% while North Africa enjoyed a strong recovery with a 13% growth in arrivals. The continental growth supersedes that of the international number, which stood at 7% in 2017 to reach 1,322 million.
TPLF Organizational Conference Concluded Successfully
The week long 7th TPLF Conference held in Mekelle concluded successfully. The conference was attended by over 2500 top TPLF leaders and representatives from sister EPRDF organizations.

Addis Ababa, January 15, 2018 (FBC) � Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has urged all members of the society to contribute their share for the establishment of Adwa Pan Africa University.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Hailemariam said Adwa Pan Africa University will be a museum to show the glorious history of the black people.
He said the government has put aside 200 million birr for the construction the university for this year alone.
Ethiopia to free opposition leader, others jailed for involvement in unrest
ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) - Ethiopian authorities have dropped charges against a senior opposition leader and hundreds of others who had been jailed for involvement in unrest that gripped the country in 2015 and 2016, the countrys attorney general said on Monday.On Monday, Attorney General Getachew Ambaye told journalists that 528 people had so far been selected for clemency, including Merera Gudina.
