Where are the legislators?
n what seems to be an unprecedented state of affairs, the House of Peoples Representatives (HPR) is conducting its regular session in visibly low attendance. On Thursday the House barely met the required quorum of 50 percent plus one or the 275 threshold in the 547-member Ethiopian parliament.
China Displays Global Expansion with Military Showcase in Africa.
Chinas overseas military expansion was the focus of a July Pentagon report, which said that Beijing may soon seek to establish a network of similar facilities around the world.China first started constructing the Djibouti base in early 2015. Located near one of the worlds busiest shipping channels.
[Shouldn't Ethiopia forge an agreement with Djibouti to have a Naval Presence too? It is not far-fetched to think one day Ethiopia will also be forced to protect its interest similar to China and the West! We have all these Industrial manufacturing hub developments and for sure no one is planning the goods will be transported via Airplane right? Just one more reason besides the historical reason people argue to own a sea port!]

FYI:TPLF Politics and Email Hacking!
TPLF has resumed its conference. The conference will last few more days! The much talked and speculated walkout of Azeb Mesfin is no more news. Azeb is back and is participating in the meeting. This would have been enough to give pain to the extremists to our delight but not to be outsmarted the extremists have found ways to extend their euphoria!
Apparently some emails were hacked and the extremists are selling some of the emails they got from the hack -like agenda memo, as "top secret" material. Little did they know agenda item memo is public as day light is for all to see. Besides if the extremists care that much, the social media has much better materials than what they are hyping! Regardless, the EPRDF government is not known to do its business through emails thus no amount of hacking will generate valuable information!
Nevertheless, it is good such thing happen now when email use is at its early stage in government circle in Ethiopia! Lesson will be learned we hope! [Aigaforum Nov 24, 2017]

Let Our Common Destiny Prevail
Samuel Estefanous 23 November 2017 - Semantically and in terms of idyllic language construction, the FDRE Constitution might not have the unique regal vibe that characterizes social contracts of this historical and legal magnitude
The Historical Orbit of Eritrea's Agony
Alemseged Abbay 11-23-17 -
Their suffering under racist Italian colonialism pushed Eritreans to retreat into their millennia-old Ethiopian identity. However, suffocation under Ethiopian political oppression and cultural chauvinism led them to don a distinct counter identity of Eritrean-ness...
TPLF Politics: Individual and Institutional Reform
Zeru Hagos Nov 18, 2017 - TPLF conference is taking too long! All EPRDF member organizations have concluded their deep Tehadeso conference except for TPLF. To date, TPLF has released two interim conference statements. The first was generic as usual and dry with no scoop. The latter, however, was short but loaded. I assume both statements were released to avoid confusion among the public. The social media has become too disruptive...
