The spread of true and false news online
There is worldwide concern over false news and the possibility that it can influence political, economic, and social well-being. To understand how false news spreads, Vosoughi et al. used a data set of rumor cascades on Twitter from 2006 to 2017. About 126,000 rumors were spread by ∼3 million people. False news reached more people than the truth!... [Hence why so many are interested to follow known and blatant liars on social media when it comes to Ethiopian politics, even though the lies are as white as they can be!]

Return of land bonuses driving Ethiopian athletics success, not drugs, says gold medal winner Yomif Kejelcha
Double world champion Yomif Kejelcha says the allure of a unique prize first offered to Haile Gebrselassie explains Ethiopia’s athletics ascent, not doping, despite complaints from a British athletics coach earlier this week. If you can't win them smear them or "ይች ልቅሶ ከ ፍየልዋ በላይ ነው" is what comes to mind reading this article! Is this article telling us about doping or why Ethiopian athletes are not asking asylum? What happened to the sensational story of the guy that came second during the marathon run in Brazil a year or so ago?

To the Ethiopian Government

Many of western media reporters are telling the world the Ethiopian government is dominated by the TPLF that represents 6% of the Ethiopian population from inside the country! This is not true and you know it! It is true some from the EPRDF circle have complained about TPLF domination and to some extent about Tigrai domination of the Ethiopian economy and Federal government. It is also true EPRDF has discussed on this issue and debunk the allegation. We think it is time to call on all international media reporters to educate them on this matter so they report the truth. TPLF nor Tigreans should NOT be defamed and harassed by such false reporting. The end result of such repeated false campaign is persecution of Tigreans and TPLF members! This must stop before it is too late - if it is not late already! Thank You

Populism Is Not Fascism But It Could Be a Harbinger
As right-wing movements have mounted increasingly strong challenges to political establishments across Europe and North America, many commentators have drawn parallels to the rise of fascism during the 1920s and 1930s. Last year, a French court ruled that opponents of Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s National Front, had the right to call her... Ethiopia may not be in Europe or North America but it surley looks like it is becoming a victim of populist leaders!

Against All Odds, Ethiopia Can Still prevail
Selamu Alemu March 6, 2018 - Some five years ago, a sister magazine of Jeune Afrique, the African Report featured a special article on Ethiopia titled “The rise and rise of Ethiopia.” Today, to the regret of many that narrative is changing and changing not for the better but for worse. That is very unfortunate indeed.
