Ethiopian students demand end to police crackdowns in rare protest
Dozens of university students protested in Ethiopia's capital on Tuesday, demanding an end to police crackdowns that followed months of demonstrations... Authorities scrapped the land scheme in January, but sporadic demonstrations persist and, on Tuesday, students from Addis Ababa University marched in two groups toward the embassy of the United States [Peaceful demonstration is the way to go in a civilized society! Our Oromo brothers and sisters should know peaceful demonstration is much desired more than mayhem and destruction. They should reject extremism and stop cajoling extremists among them. Nothing good can come out of destruction and killing! Other Ethiopians should also take heed from the current Oromo unrest since extremists will try to hijack any good governance issue in their Kilil!

Short commentary on the current social media rumor of military action against Shaibia!

Two senior OPDO officials relieved from their post
The Central Committee of the Oromo People Democratic Organization (OPDO) has relieved two heads from their posts. Daba Debele, who had been an Executive Committee member of both OPDO and EPRDF as well as Head of the Organization’s Office and Zelalem Jemaneh, who had been an Executive Committee member of both OPDO and EPRDF and Head of Natural Resource Bureau of Oromia Regional State were fired from their post.

Did you know there were Ethiopians who trekked for 46 days all the way from Addis to Adwa to commemorate the Batlle of Adaw? Did you know there were precursor military engagements at Alagee and Mekelle Endayesus between Ethiopian forces and Colonial forces? Listen to this and be informed.
There are many untold stories about the epic battle of Adwa! It is understandable former rulers were not too excited to glamour Adwa and its vicinity and its significance but what is with the current government? 25 years and they are not able to establish a functioning public park as promised around Soloda? Who knows Mekelle University may beat them to erect a monument and a park at Endayesus to commemorate the battle of Adwa!

Oromia and Addis City Officials Holding Critical Meeting to Review Recent Unrest
The meeting is inline with EPRDF age old process called "Gemgam"(Review) after major event. The recent unrest in Oromia that has caused loss of life and huge damage to development projects has caught EPRDF by surprise. The review process will be critical and is by no means restricted to OPDO. Many experts believe the remaining EPRDF member organization will be forced to do a meaningful "Gemgam"!

"We are acting to prevent a major humanitarian crisis and protect Ethiopia's hard-earned development progress," Gayle Smith, administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, said Thursday In announcing the deployment of a Disaster Assistance Response Team. [We couldn't resist to say... the best way to help Ethiopia sustain its development progress is to invest! The U.S. could do much better in Aiding Ethiopia and other Horn countries if it is really interested about National Security. Also, the U.S harbor groups that are deemed as "terrorist" by Ethiopia and are making it hard for Ethiopians living in the norther area to go on with their daily business to tackle poverty! As recent as few weeks back people were abducted according to eye witness by the Eritrean regime and its running dogs like Ginbot 7!Why can't the U.S. send a cease and desist ultimatum to such groups?
