As we told you few days back EPRDF is going through a series of meetings. After a through deliberation the executive committee has reached a common understanding according to the Front press release. It has issued its findings which is being discussed by a wider group of EPRDF who are members of the EPRDF assembly. Similar meetings are expected to continue at all levels of the party hierarchy. One of the key decision reached was in regard to the Amhara region disturbance. Word is, some people with power have admitted their weakness and have been identified as part of the problem. It is expected those blamed and those who have admitted guilt will be disciplined. It is also rumored there is a push to integrate some of the senior leaders who were replaced and sidelined early on because of the EPRDF transformation/“metekakat”. Although there is wide agreement the political clout of some of the senior leadership sidelined can be helpful there is also some resentment! Those who are disagreeing are arguing the reason the party and the government is in such predicament is because of all the past mistakes and weakness of the same senior leaders! We will have more on this, stay-tuned! Aigaforum 08-27-16
