According to the President and CEO of the center, the Woodrow Wilson Center deals with key issues that impact Africa and US-Africa relationships.
Four pertinent focus areas of the center, Jane Harman added, are peace, security and conflict; trade, investment and sustainable development; leadership and governance and Africa's roles in the Global arena.
The President and CEO appreciated Ethiopia's achievements within the country and with neighboring countries in the region in all the four focus areas.
Jane Harman thanked the Ethiopian government for hosting the Munich Security Conference which would be the first event on the African continent as part of its MSC Core Group Meeting series to be held on April 14 and 15 where the Wilson Center would take part.
Dr. Tedros thanked the Center for its exemplary work with Africa in the areas of greater importance. The Foreign Minister explained the progresses made in areas of turmoil in the Horn of Africa.
He said, "Slowly but surely things are getting better." Dr. Tedros called for the Global community to play its decisive role with regional peace actors like AMISOM.
